O Scale Locomotives — Perfect Gauge For “YOU” Who Enjoy Conducting YOUR Locomotive as Opposed to Crafting Daunting Details
O gauge, at one time was the most widely used gauge in model railways. It’s fall from grace came in the 1960s with the introduction of smaller gauges.
O scale or “ZERO” scale, received its call sign as its a scale lower than #1Gauge or Wide Gauge. Many collectors only seek O Scale due to it’s history with American Flyer and the shear value of these snippets of American History.
O Scale Numerically Breaks Down Into This Ratio –
- O Scale is 1:48 or of Full Size in US
- O Scale is 1:45 in Europe
- O Scale is 1:43.5 in UK
- This translates O Scale as (1) inch on the miniature… representing (48) inches in US, (45) inches in Europe, and (43.5) inches in the UK
- O Scale (Track) Gauge = 32mm (distance between “running” track)
