Realistic Track and Rail – Track Should Be Detailed to Appear as Authentic as the Real Thing
Unfortunately many model railway replicas fall short in the realism department.
In order to create the illusion of a live locomotive “barreling” down the tracks, ”YOU” must create the allusion of realistic track. This will greatly enhance the effect of your layout.
We aren’t just speaking on the rails themselves, we’re referring to such detail as switch rods, railroad ties, derailers, rock bed, and more. Picture to the right is a great shot of a large scale layout.
Notice the thick layer of ballast resting comfortably under the rails.
