    n her hay day she was the titanic of ships… in more than one way. This 1911 marvel of engineering was only marveled for so long before its lack of get-er-done was tested. The locomotive lacked the steam power at high velocities to force the cylinders to keep up their pace.

  • Casey Jones Village | Model Train Museum

    Mighty Casey sealed his fate on April 30th, 1900 as he and engine fireman Sim Webb chugged along the lines in Vaughn Mississippi. The pair where on route to Canton, Mississippi only to discover the track was blocked by a halted caboose and train just a few hundred feet in front of them. Unfortunately Mighty Casey was cruising to fast to stop the locomotive in time.

    In 1861 Mathias Forney, a life long railroad man, designed and patented the first of a long line of Forney concept locomotives. The Forneys where special in that they came equipped with trailing trucks attached to their coal compartments.
